Study Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to test whether changing when you eat can improve your blood sugar, reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, and improve your health.

Study Qualifications:
To qualify for this research study, you must:

  • Be 30-70 years old
  • Wake up at a regular time between 5-8 am
  • Have a BMI between 30-60 kg/m2
  • Not take diabetes medication

We are especially looking for adults who are at risk for high blood sugar or have prediabetes.

About the Study:
For the study, you will be randomly selected to either:

  • Graze throughout the day
  • Skip breakfast
  • Skip dinner

You will follow your assigned meal timing schedule for 8 weeks. During this period, we will give you food to eat (at no cost), and you will be required to eat all the food we give you. Every 2 weeks, you will meet with our staff for encouragement and to monitor your health. Before and after the 8-week program, you will stay overnight in our clinic for 24 hours (1 day). We will do a series of medical tests to look at your blood sugar control, weight, body fat, cardiovascular disease risk, and psychological health. For your convenience, these tests may be scheduled on the weekend or when you are not working.

Study Duration:
Your total participation in this study will last about 10 weeks.

Compensation:
If you complete all parts of the study, you will receive $1200 plus 8 weeks of meals, collectively valued over $2400. This study is best suited for people who are motivated.
